New Update: Shadows! Trinkets! New Weapon!
In this update I added 2d lighting and new floor tiles to hopefully help the aesthetic. You will need to set the unity launcher's video quality to 'ultra' to get shadows. However if you have performance issues, setting it below ultra should fix it.
Other new features include:
A new weapon, the mace. Swings slowly but does high damage. It has a talent that can make it swing faster.
Trinket system: There are a total of 8 trinkets. Trinkets are very powerful and designed to be built around. Some examples include;
-Homing bullets, makes your bullets home in on your enemies.
-Close proximity: Killing an enemy at close range nets you bonus experience.
-Delicious potions: Using a potion will additionally restore 1 health and give ammo.
-Melee kills gives crits: Killing an enemy with your melee weapon will make your gun deal crits for a short time. Swap your weapons quickly.
And that's only half of them. You will be able to select a trinket once at the beginning of a run, then every 4 levels there is a boss who will drop another trinket point. (Currently the boss is using placeholder assets).
Also, I did lots of misc balancing including:
-map generation, maps should be smaller, less running around.
-Difficulty scaling, should get more difficult faster.
-Potion balancing.
-Enemy health balancing.
-Enemy projectile balancing. Enemy projectiles are much larger now, hopefully making them easier to either dodge or shoot. Currently the asset is the old projectile scaled up, so it looks a bit ugly.
And lots of other things.
